A new musical based on the novel by Gregory Maguire which takes place in the Land of Oz and has been described as the “true” story of the Wicked Witch of the West.

"Wicked" had its World Premiere at The Curran Theatre in San Francisco, CA on May 28th, 2003 under the direction of Joe Mantello and featuring Kristen Chenoweth as Glinda, Idina Menzel as Elphaba, Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, Michelle Federer as Nessarose, John Horton as Doctor Dillamand, Kirk McDonald as Boq and Robert Morse as The Wizard among others. This production went on hiatus, due to the COVID 19 restrictions, beginning March 12, 2020. It went back into Rehearsals on August 16, 2021 and resumed performances on September 14, 2021.
