This new stage version incorporates the songs from the 1992 film's score plus never-before-heard Menken/Ashman songs restored from early drafts of the film. It marks a return to the authors' original vision: a loving homage to the Hope-Crosby road pictures.
For The Record:
A different version of "Aladdin" premiered at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre in the Summer of 2011. It played its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre (11/1/13 to 1/5/14). This production went on hiatus, due to the COVID 19 restrictions, beginning March 12, 2020. It went back into Rehearsals on August 30, 2021 and resumed performances on September 28, 2021.
