It’s the summer of 1987, and Ana Garcia dreams of flying away from East Los Angeles. But when her family receives a make-or-break order for 200 dresses, Ana finds herself juggling her own ambitions, her mother’s expectations, and a community of women all trying to make it work against the odds.

"Real Women..." had its World Premiere at A.R.T in Decemeber 2023. The original play was written by Josefina Lopez and had its premiere at the in San Francisco in 1990, and played the Victory Gardens in Chicago in 1993. The 2002 film was directed by Patricia Cardoso, written by Ms Lopez & George LaVoo, and starred America Ferrera.
