Bobby (a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage), the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends.
“Company” originally opened on Apr 26, 1970 at the Alvin under the auspices of Harold Prince in assoc w/Ruth Mitchell. Mr Prince directed a cast which included Barbara Barrie, Susan Browning, Larry Kert, Charles Kimbrough, Pamela Myers & Elaine Stritch. The musical staging was by Michael Bennett. It was revived on B’way in 1993 and 1995.
Sidelight: John Doyle’s version of “Company” was originally produced at Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park, where it ran from Mar 14, 2006 to Apr 14, and featured the same cast.
