“Collected Stories” chronicles the relationship between two female writers: Ruth Steiner, a celebrated New York author with a dry wit and a distinguished career; and her bright-eyed young protégé, Lisa Morrison.  As their relationship evolves and the line between fact and fiction starts to blur, their story comes to an explosive conclusion.

“Collected Stories” had its World Premiere at, and was commissioned by, South Coast Rep in 1996.  It’s New York Premiere was presented by MTC in 1997.  Lisa Peterson directed a cast which included Debra Messing (Lisa Morrison) and Maria Tucci (Ruth Steiner).
