Eddie Carbone is a Brooklyn longshoreman obsessed with his 17-year-old niece Catherine. When Catherine falls in love with a newly arrived immigrant, Eddie’s jealousy erupts in a rage that consumes him, his family, and his world.

“A View From the Bridge” originally opened on Sept 29, 1955 at the Coronet under the auspices of Kermit Bloomgarden, Robert Whitehead & Roger L Stevens.  Martin Ritt directed a cast which featured Van Helfin (Eddie) & Gloria Marlowe (Catherine).  The most recent revival opened on Dec 14, 1997 at the Roundabout.  Michael Mayer directed Anthony LaPaglia (Eddie), Brittany Murphy (Catherine), Allison Janney (Beatrice) & Stephen Spinella (Alfieri).
