3/27/2019 4:37pm

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has annouced the details of its annual gala to be held on Mon April 1, at the Boch Center Wang Theatre (270 Tremont St, Boston.) Under the leadership of gala co-chairs Roann Costin, Fay & Bill Shutzer, and Lis Tarlow & Steve Kay, A.R.T. will present an evening of dining and entertainment, building on the success of last year’s gala, which raised nearly $1.3 million—a record—in support of the theater’s mission to expand the boundaries of theater. The evening will feature performances by Davóne Tines and the cast of A.R.T.’s 2018 World Premiere production "The Black Clown," and several surprises. The musical program will be directed by Zack Winokur. Lance Horne will provide music direction. Cocktail hour will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner, a live auction, and the artistic program. The evening will also include the presentation of the 2019 A.R.T. Angel Award to Harvard University President Emerita Drew Gilpin Faust in recognition of her tireless efforts to elevate the role of the arts on the University’s campus and beyond.
