The TADA! Youth Theater has announced its 2018-19 season, which includes three productions of original musicals, including one world premiere. TADA! performances are one-hour long, affordable, fun-filled musicals that are perfect for family audiences of ages 3+. They are presented by talented kids who are members of TADA!’s Resident Youth Ensemble.  The season will open with Sleepover playing 16 performances, Nov 16 through Dec 2. Sleepover tackles all the amusing and hairy situations in that glorious stage of tween-hood. While Simone frets about not fitting in because she’s new to NYC and doesn’t know anyone at the party, Mia worries about whom to invite. As for the boys? They’re plotting a way to crash the party. The book is by Philip Freedman, with music and lyrics by Jim Beloff. The production is directed and choreographed by Joanna Greer, TADA!’s Associate Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer, with music direction by Matthew Gregory. The next original musical is Odd Day Rain, a futuristic rock musical playing  Jan 19 through Feb 24, 2019.  In the year 2211, the world isn’t as we know it today. Aurora and her friends live outside without any adults, computers, running water…or even cellphones. Meanwhile, Claire continues life alone in the confines of her room run by Computer and wonders: is there anything more out there?  Odd Day Rain Book by Janine Nina Trevens, TADA!’s Producing Artistic Director and Co-founder, and Deirdre Broderick with music and lyrics by Deirdre Broderick. The summer and final production of the season will be the world premiere of Game Changers, a 90s Musical Game Show running July 10 through August 1, 2019. Game Changers tells the story of a fictional popular children’s TV game show complete with trivia, mystery food challenges, and an epic final round that no one has ever won. To win, contestants will have to do something that’s never been done before. Game Changers book by Christina Franklin with music and lyrics by Matthew Gregory.
