From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert For Parkland, USA set for 4/16

Following the tragic events that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, the Broadway community will unite with many of the inspiring and world-changing MSD students to perform From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert For Parkland, USA on Mon April 16 at 7:00 PM at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL.  The concert will feature musical performances and special appearances from a variety of Broadway and TV’s biggest names including Matthew MorrisonRachel Bloom, Deborah Cox, Wayne Brady, Kirsten Maldonado, Noah Galvin, Justin Guarini, Vincent Rodriquez III, Ephraim Sykes, Erich Bergen, Christy Altomare, Laura Bell Bundy, Telly Leung, Jordan Donica, Donna Lynne Champlin, Gabrielle Ruiz, Etai Benson, Carrie Manolakos, George Salazar, Bryan Fenkhart, Charity Angel Dawson, Jessica Vosk, Brandon Shapiro and Jake Wildhorn. The performers will be accompanied by the South Florida Symphony. The performance line-up is subject to change and additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks. Some of the songs that will be performed were written by the Stoneman Douglas students in collaboration with New York theatrical composers including Joe Iconis, Bobby Cronin, Zoe Sarnak, Drew Gasparini and more, with additional songs written solely by the students. Additionally, there will be a special performance by Jaime Guttenberg's dance troupe in honor of her memory.  Several Stoneman Douglas students will speak at the event as well.  Approximately 10,000 tickets have been donated to the families of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and staff. Net proceeds raised (royalties and artist fees waived) will be donated to Marjory Stoneman Douglas Vicitims’ Fund and Shine MSD (to benefit arts advocacy in the Parkland community). The Parkland benefit is produced by Van Dean and Yael Silver together with Joyce Arbucias, Kenny Howard, Andrea Canny and Chris Yakubchik. The performance will be co-directed by Michael Unger and Kenny Howard. Michael J. Moritz Jr. will music direct. Michael J. Moritz Jr. and Jeff Saver serve as co-music supervisors & will conduct with lead orchestrations by Kim Scharnberg, casting is by Robin Carus, Jason Haft is project coordinator, Sam Wilmott and Marcus Stevens are creative consultants, production stage manager is Sydney Steele with Rachel Sussman as project manager.
